Glyn is a fantastic professor; so far I've taken 363 and 396 with him and will continue to take more. He literally insults students in class. Take his class, it's very valuable. My favorite professor at SU so far. One of the assignments was a freebie, like 20 questions that you had weeks to answer and were completely open note. Professor DiPietro enjoys teaching like very few other professors at SU. Professor Drake teaches courses on race and ethnicity, educational inequality, and ethnographic research methods. He is a really funny and intelligent person, and his lectures can sometimes be a bit of a roller coaster ride, but they are awesome. She offers tons of extra credit and drops your lowest test grade. My favorite thing about this class is that there is no textbook. The negative reviews are very harsh, but he isn't for everyone. His goal is that students will be able to apply basic political philosophy to real life situations, like journalism which is what I'm going for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Let's make it official. There are ample opportunities for extra credit. This was a terrible class and I completely regret taking it. Papers are graded by TAs. He encourages a classroom that is heavily dialogue-based and this encouraged me to really think about the content I was consuming and how I thought about it/would talk about it. Clearly, Walter is not capable of teaching the number of students he has.
